Recent surveys of the year past have shown the community satisfaction levels with matters of sports and recreation needing attention.
The Palm Cove and Clifton Communities, whilst enjoying Cairns’ lifestyle area, are not particularly well endowed with sports and recreation infrastructure.
In Douglas, where there are numerous active sports groups, there remains a lot of ‘unfinished business’ when it comes to upgrades.

Land purchased in Mossman for extensions of playing fields needs follow through and completion.
Lighting over the Port Douglas’s AFL field needs installation, as does the continued upgrade of the Port sports field entrance.

Requests for resealing of the rough asphalt to a smoother asphalt for the cycle clubs competitive circuit on Port Street alongside the Marina Mirage need attention when the resealing is due, or before.
